| Who We Are:
AIChE's Young Professionals Advisory Board (YPAB) was created to gain
and maintain young professionals’ involvement in AIChE and to ensure
that students retain their membership through their transition into the
work force. To accomplish this, the AIChE National Board assists the integration
of chemical engineers within 5-10 years of receiving their undergraduate
degree into the profession and into AIChE, and helps define programs and
services tailored for young chemical engineers.
What We Do:
Chicago YPAB has very recently been formed, thus our focus in this early
stage is to build a new network of young chemical engineers in the Chicagoland
area. Our goal is to form a network of chemical engineers in the Chicagoland
area that includes both technical and social activities.
Where We Plan to Go:
Chicago YPAB plans on maintain a high level of activity between local
universities and business that employ chemical engineers. The goal is
to unlimitedly have a strong membership and network ranging from new graduates
to young professionals that have been in industries relating to chemical
engineer for less than ten years. We plan on adopting a half technical
focus and half social focus. This will allow members to enhance their
knowledge of other industries relating to chemical engineering in addition
to building a strong network with other young chemical engineers.
